Sabudana Vada
Sabudana vada is also called as "Sago Vada" is a traditional snack from Maharashtra. Sabudana vadas are crispy from outside with a soft and light texture from inside. It is the best option for Upavas/Vrat like Ekadashi, Sravan month, Navratri etc.
Ingredients :-
- 1 Cup Sabudana(Tapioca Pearls Or Sago)
- 2 Medium boiled Potatoes
- 1/2 Cup Crushed Groundnuts
- 1/2 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds
- 1/2 Teaspoon Red Chili Powder
- 1 Teaspoon Lemon Juice
- Salt
- Oil
Recipe :-
- Take 1 cup sabudana in a large bowl.
- First wash it, then add 1 1/2 cup water and soak sabudana for 4 to 6 hours. You can also soak overnight. I soaked the sabudana overnight and in the morning they had become soft.
- Drain of all the water completely very well from soaked sabudana.
- Check it, if they have softened.
- Then take 2 medium boiled potatoes and mash it very well and add in sabudana.
- Add 1/2 crushed groundnuts, 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds, 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder (if you like green chilies so you can take green chilies),salt as per your taste and 1 teaspoon lemon juice.
- Mix it well and lightly mash it.
- Take 1 teaspoon of the mixture in your hand and make a small vada. again same as and make 10 to 12 vadas.
- Heat up oil in a pan.
- Gently drop 2 to 3 vada into oil at a time.
- Fry vada on medium flame, fry until it turns crispy and golden brown from both sides. Then take vada out of oil and put on the kitchen paper towels.
After some time, Sabudana Vada will be ready. You can serve crispy and delicious Sabudana Vada with green chutney or tomato sauce.
