Kadhi Muthiya

Kadhi Muthiya is one of the favorite dish in Maharashtra. This is little spicy because this dish is a Vidarbha style dish. You can eat kadhi with flat bread(Bhakari)/chapati and side by side with muthiya. It is very yummy dish. 

Ingredients For Kadhi :-

  • 250 Gram Curd(Dahi)
  • 4 Teaspoon Gram Flour(Besan)
  • 1/2 Inch Ginger
  • 3 Pieces Garlic
  • 2 Green Chili
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 1/4 Cup Chopped Coriander Leaves
  • Curry Leaves
  • 4 - 6 Groundnuts
  • 3 Cloves (Laung)
  • 2 Teaspoon Oil
  • Salt

Ingredients For Muthiya :-

  • 2 Cup Black Eyed Dal(Chawali Dal)
  • 1 Cup Chopped Onion
  • 4 Green Chili
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Fennel Seeds(Shauf)
  • 1/2 Cup Coriander Leaves
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • Salt

Recipe of Kadhi :-

  1. Take 1/2 inch ginger, 3 pieces of garlic, 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds, 3 - 4 curry leaves, 2 green chili, 4 - 6 groundnuts, 4 teaspoon gram flour(Besan) in a blender and blend it.
  2. Then add 250 gram curd(Dahi) and again blend it. Then transfer the all mixture in a bowl and add water as required.
  3. Heat 2 teaspoon oil in a deep pan on medium flame.
  4. Add 3 cloves, 4 - 6 curry leaves and saute it. Add all mixture, 1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves and salt as per your taste. 
  5. Then keep stirring with the spoon until the kadhi is boiled well. 
When kadhi will boiled then it will be ready.

Recipe of Muthiya :-

  1. Take 2 cup black eyed dal in large bowl. Wash it to 3 - 4 times very well. Add 4 - 5 cup water in black eyed dal and soak them for overnight or 4 to 5 hours.
  2. After that drain the water from black eyed dal.
  3. Take 4 green chili, 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds, 1/2 teaspoon fennel seeds in a blender and blend it very well. Then add soaked black eyed dal in a blender and again blend to smooth paste.( Do not add water)
  4. Transfer the smooth paste in a large bowl.
  5. Add 1 cup chopped onion, 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder, salt as per your taste, 1/2 cup chopped coriander leaves and mix it well then dough will be ready.
  6. Take a deep pan on medium flame. add 1 glass of water in deep pan. Then put on the colander(chalani) on deep pan.
  7. Put one fist of dough on the colander (chalani), Repeat this again and again in the same way as you can put 6 - 8 muthiya at a time. Then cover with lid for 15 minutes.
After some time muthiya will be ready. Then you can serve kadhi muthiya.
