Poha cutlet is a easy recipe. This is an tasty and crunchy cutlet. You can have the poha cutlet for breakfast or as an evening snack or even as a party starter or As a after school snacks for kids.

Ingredients :-

  • 1 Cup Thick Poha
  • 1 Medium Boiled Potato
  • 1/2 Cup Chopped Onion
  • 1/4 Cup Chopped Coriander Leaves
  • 1 Fine Chopped Green Chili
  • 2 tbsp Crushed Groundnuts
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Chaat Masala
  • 1/2 tsp Red Chili Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garam Masala
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • Oil 
  • Salt

Recipe :-

  1. Take 1 cup thick poha in large bowl and rinse it well one or two times.
  2. Then drain all the water from the poha and cover it for 10 minutes. The poha should get softened well.
  3. Take 1 medium boiled potato. First peel it then mash very well with a fork or with your hand.
  4. Add boiled mashed potato, 1/2 cup chopped onion, 1 fine chopped green chili, 2 tbsp crushed groundnuts, 1/2 tsp cumin seeds, 1/2 tsp chaat masala, 1/2 tsp garam masala, 1/2 tsp red chili powder, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, salt as per your taste and 1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves in bowl of poha.
  5. Mix everything very well. Check the taste and add more salt or spices if required.
  6. Make a lemon sized balls then shape a s per shown in photo.( You can make any shapes of cutlet or as per your idea)
  7. Heat oil in a deep pan. 
  8. Once oil becomes hot then gently drop 3 - 4 cutlets at a time into oil and fry it until it becomes light golden colour to both side.
  9. Then remove it on a kitchen paper towel.
  10. Similarly, fry all the cutlets and serve it with tomato sauce or green chutney.
