Chapati Chivda

This is easy and delicious chapati chivda of leftover chapati. This is Maharashtrian dish. It is one of the most common breakfast dish. You can make it for breakfast or snacks. 

Ingredients :-

  • 4 Wheat Chapati
  • 2 Medium Chopped Onion
  • 4 - 5 Chopped Green Chili
  • 3 - 4 Chopped Garlic Cloves
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1/4 Cup Groundnuts
  • 1/4 Cup Chopped Coriander Leaves
  • 4 - 5 Curry Leaves
  • Oil
  • Salt

Recipe :-

  1. Take 4 wheat chapati in a plate and make fine pieces of chapati.(You may do this with hands or in a mixer grinder. Here, I made in mixer grinder)
  2. Heat 3 tbsp oil in a deep pan.
  3. Add 1/2 tsp mustard seeds, let them pop.
  4. Add 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds, let them sizzle.
  5. Add green chili and saute it well. Add garlic, curry leaves and saute it well.
  6. Add groundnuts and fry till it turns light brown colour.
  7. Add onion saute it for 2 minutes on the medium flame. Add 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, salt as per your taste and mix it well.( You can also add green peas.)
  8. Add fine pieces of chapati and mix it well. Keep it covered for 5 minutes and stir it occasionally.
  9. Add chopped coriander leaves and mix it well. After that chapati chivda will be ready.
