Gobi Paratha/Cauliflower Paratha

Gobi paratha is palatable dish if you try it I am sure you will make again and again. Gobi paratha is stuffed with flavored cauliflower and spices. A paratha is a flatbread that originated in the Indian subcontinent. Gobi paratha is often made for breakfast Panjabi houses as well as served in Panjabi restaurants and Panjabi dhabas. 


Ingredients :-

  • 250 Gram cauliflower
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1 Green chilli fine chopped
  • 3-4 Garlic cloves fine chopped
  • 1/4 Cup coriander leaves chopped
  • 1 tsp Red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp Carom seeds
  • 2 Cup wheat flour
  • Water
  • Salt 
  • Oil

How to make filling :- 

  1. Take cauliflower and wash it, cut it in medium pieces. 
  2. Heat 1 glass of water in a pan add cauliflower, 1/4 tsp salt and stir it.
  3. Boil the cauliflower on medium flame for 5 minutes.
  4. Aftet that rinse the water and Cool down, chop cauliflower fine with the help of chopper.
  5. Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds and let them pop.
  6. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle.
  7. Add garlic, green chilli and saute it for few seconds.
  8. Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, red chilli powder and saute it for few seconds.
  9. Add boiled chopped cauliflower, salt as per taste, coriander leaves and mix it well.
  10. Cook 5 minutes on low flame after 5 minutes switch off the flame and keep aside for cool.

How to Make Dough :- 

  1. Take wheat flower in a medium bowl, add salt as per taste, carom seeds and mix it well.
  2. Add water as require and make semi soft dough, add oil and knead until the dough is smooth. 
  3. Cover it with a cloth and rest it for 15 minutes.

How to Make Gobi Paratha :-

  1. After resting knead the dough once again and divide the dough in equal dough balls.
  2. Coat the dough ball with dry flour and flatten it with your hands, use your thumb and finger to make a cup shape keeping the center a bit thick.
  3. Add gobi mixture and press the mixture downwards gently with thumb.
  4. Bring the ends together and seal them.
  5. Flatten the gobi mixture filled ball gently, sprinkle some dry flour and flatten with hands, further roll it with a roll pin. Do not press it hard while rolling.
  6. Set a hot tawa on medium heat, put the uncooked paratha over the hot tawa.
  7. Cook it both sides nicely then apply some oil or butter and cook on both sides untill it starts to fluff and paratha turns nice golden brown in colour.
  8. Make all the parathas in the same way.
  9. You're hot, tasty gobi paratha is ready, serve it with sauce or butter or your favourite pickle or curd or any dip of your choice.
